Elena Zucker
Writing: Elena Zucker writes for theater, film and television. Her work has been produced in NYC and regionally, as well as internationally in the UK, France and Australia.
Elena is also a writing consultant for playwrights, screenwriters and theater artists. She consults both independently and for the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund of Johns Hopkins University.
Direction and Movement Coaching: Elena has directed both large-ensemble theater productions and one-person-shows, in genres ranging from farce to modern realism to dance theater. She has an extensive background in collaborative creation. She also works as a movement coach for actors and directors.
Teaching: Elena is currently on faculty at Barnard College of Columbia University, where she teaches acting. She has also taught theater-related writing, performance and academic courses at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. Schools include NYU Tisch School of the Arts, SUNY Purchase, Marymount Manhattan College, CUNY CSI, LIU Post, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and Movement Theater Studio, NYC. She runs her own Writing from the Body workshop remotely.
Education: Elena holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU and received her BA from Middlebury College. She also received the two-year diploma from the physical theater conservatory Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. She is a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab.
